AshGold secures vital point

Obuasi, (Ash), July 5, GNA - A 90th minute goal by Theophilus Anobah enabled Obuasi AshGold FC to secure a vital point as they settled for a 1-1 drawn game against visiting Sekondi Eleven Wise in their 27th Week Glo Premier League encounter played at the Len Clay Sports Stadium at Obuasi.

It was a result that AshGold needed badly to survive relegation and it came as no surprise when supporters of the Club went into jubilation soon after the match.

Wise began the match on a determined note and took the lead in the 55th minute through Eric Owusu after the home team had messed up numerous chances in the first half with Fredrick Quayson and Arafat Gako being the worst culprits.

This gave Wise a leeway in most departments of the game as they relaxed and occasional surged upfront in search of goal but to no avail. It was however, AshGold who mounted series of attack in the dying minutes of the game and in one of their forays they eventually earned the equalizer.
