Arsenal to test Kotoko at Berekum

The unbeaten run of Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be put to the test at the Golden City Park at Berekum on Sunday where the league leaders play Arsenal in a tricky Glo Premier League encounter.

Kotoko have started the season well picking 10 points from a possible 12 in their first four games, and will seek to keep that record going as they make the trip to Berekum.

The Golden City Park has however not been a good haunting ground for them lately, and Arsenal would seek to press home that advantage on Sunday. The Berekum Gunners are just outside the relegation zone after four games, and would want to make the most of home advantage as they play their first game at Berekum after serving a three-match home ban.

Second placed Accra Hearts of Oak will seek to take advantage of any slip by Kotoko as they welcome New Edubiase United to the Accra Sports Stadium. They are level on points with Kotoko on the table and would go first if they can better the Kotoko result at Berekum. United tough are on a high this season and will have something to say about that. Wa All Stars faces a stern test at Kpando where they play as guests to Heart of Lions who will be chasing their first win in four games.

Champions Berekum Chelsea will seek to get their act together as they visit Sekondi to play as guests of Wassaman United at the Essipong Stadium. They have parted company with their foreign coach Steve Pollack and new man in charge Hans van Der Plyum will have a lot to do as he seeks his first win in charge.

AshantiGold SC will be the bookmaker’s favourites to collect the three points as they welcome Liberty Professionals to the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi. Tema Youth will have to battle hard if they hope to record their first win of the campaign at home to in-form Medeama SC at the Tema Park.

Saturday’s games will see Mighty Jets locking horns with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Accra Sports Stadium with Bechem United playing Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
