Mr. IGP, tame your boys.

I was perplexed when I woke up on 17th of September 2015 and heard that my good friend Gabby Asare Okyere Darko together with some group of peaceful demonstrators were flogged by the Ghana Police Service.
In Ghana, once a suspected criminal is arrested, the next thing is for that person to be given the “mandatory” two slaps by the police. We do see these victims on televisions with various degrees of injuries. This evil practice has come to be part and parcel of the Ghana Police Service and I say without fear that if that is not taken cognizance of, it will one day take the nation by surprise. Of course, when that happens, the entire country is going to be in crisis of serous dimensions and catastrophic proportions.
Mr. Inspector General of Police (IGP), what your boys did to the let my vote count alliance (LMVCA) demonstrators reminds of the “19 Kojo hoho” days when chairman Rawlings toppled a democratically elected government under the leadership of Dr. Hilla Liman. The opposition viewed Mr. Rawlings and his Ewe ethnic henchmen notably, Kojo Tsikata who happened to be his chief scribe in security, as a bloodthirsty group –with the worst human right record in post – colonial Ghanaian history which was determined to retain power by any means.
In this case, the entire African continent, more especially, West Africans and for that matter Ghanaians can clearly see the ANIMALISTIC BEHAVIOR of the Ghana Police Service. If our “Men in black” are poised for war, they should channel their grievances and cries to the “DEAD GOAT” man since he is the commander in chief of the arm forces. Maybe, he may parcel them nicely into one of his cargo aircraft and deposit them in Middle East. I understand that land provides a serene atmosphere for exchanges of rubber bullets, metal bullets, lachrymatory agents, water cannons and the likes.
Folks, were the demonstrators armed? Did they actually defy the agreed routes? Even if they did, did the police had to go to the extent of enucleating people’s eye? If a spontaneous fool stop is not put to this barbaric act of the Ghana police service, Ghanaians shall soon be walking with one eye.
Mr. IGP, TAME your boys and let us have a vague scent of good policing otherwise, what happened in Kenya is not far from germinating in Ghana. After all, Ghana is not heavenly abode.
Comrades, I wanted to go to Accra, but due to some circumstances beyond my control, I decided to alight at Suhum.
God bless all my readers, God bless mother Ghana.
