Where were you when Kofour left out Ewes, Northerners, etc. from his govt and development agenda? Not a single district up north was connected to another by tarred road under NPP despite the fact that they boasted of massive road construction. The north was left out in kofour's President's Special Initiative and in the area of rural electrification, the NPP created a wide deficit in the North. I wander how many people from the three regions of the North benefited from govt scholarship to study abroad under kofour. What would have informed the NPP to marginalize the North if not their hatred for Northerners. Their attitude towards Ewes wasn't any different. Now we have a govt that is working to fix the deficit that was intentionally created by the NPP rather being accused of tribalism. Are you not being tribalistic yourself? How come all the examples you cited have to do with Asantes and Ashanti Region? Are all other tribes satisfied?
Regarding the issue of the international airport, on the very month the construction of the Tamale airport was commissioned, a loan of 200 million dolars, two times taht which is being spent on the Tamale airport, was approved for the construction of the Kumasi market. What prevented Asantes from demanding that 100 million of that amount be used to upgrade the Kumasi airport into an international airport if they were so jealous of the Tamale airport?

Bowdich, T. E., Mission from Cape Coast to
Ashantee 1819 (notes)
177 7 days from Sallagah NE according to the
Moors through the Inta town of Zongoo is Yahndi
(Yendi) the capital of Dagwumba.
178 Yahndi is described to be beyond comparison
larger than Coomassie, the houses much better
built and ornamented. Ashantees lost themselves in
the streets. The King Inana Taquanee, has been
converted by the Moors, who have settled there in
great numbers. The markets at Yahndi are
described as animated scenes of commerce,
constantly crowded with merchants from almost all
countries of the interior. Horses and cattle
abound. Yahndi is named after the numeral one,
from its pre-eminence.

I really don't have the time and energy today to devote this rambling, unsupportable claims and finger-pointing laced with the usual ethnocentric bias and prejudice President Mahama was speaking against.
We have been hearing the accusations about the alleged Ewe dominance of State bodies since the late 1960s when the PP made it the main thrust of its campaign against Gbedema's NAL. Nothing substantially has changed from those claims, except attempts to tag on some other ethnic groups which are also allegingly benefiting in this presumed tribalistic aganda against Asantes. Why it is always Asantes who are discriminated against is not made clear. Ghana has over 60 linguistic groups, and the Asantes form a fraction of the Akan ethnic group of abt 47%, that's about 16% (same as the Dagbani/Mole); not much larger than the Ewe ethnic group which forms about 13%. So are the accusers claiming the Fantis, Akuapems, Kwahus, Brongs, Sefwis, Akyems, etc., etc. don't suffer tribal discrimination perpetrated by even the likes of Mills (an Akan) and Mahama(a Gonja) to benefit Ewes? Can someone explain this to us?
It is a pity that the state bodies thus accused don't find it necessary to refute these allegations with the correct information. The Ewes, especially those in executive positions, who work in them to feed their families and themselves are themselves very foolish and think the response to such malcontents feeding on ethnocentrism is to brand them as "gbemelawo" - bush people - don't mind them! Only people who have time waste it replying to them! So, when I met senior Philip Fiadzomor, now deceased, here in London (he was also asked to proceed on leave while forensic audit was undertaken and never recalled), I expressed my joy at their being sacked in such a manner by Kufuor and his regime.
Now let me cut my time wasting!

In one breath you were advising President Mahama against tribalism but in another breath you showed your total dislike for the Ewes and Northerners. Left to people like you there would have been a civil war in Ghana but for one thing, Asantes are descending and the majority of Asantes don't think like you. National development should be total and encompassing and not centered in only two or three cities as you are demanding of President Mahama.
Brother please come again because I am certain that you are not an Asante.

Wonders they say will never end, was it not this president who during the 2012 elections said that because is from the North, electorates from the 3-Northern Regions should vote for him and what of the NDC secretary who just yesterday said that before one can become a president, the person would have to marry from his home Region? Indeed Ghanaian have short memories.

Cletus Avoka Heads Ghana Immigration Board

Mr Cletus Avoka, Member of Parliament for Zebilla Constituency and a former Minister of the Interior has been appointed to head a nine-member Board of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).
Other members are: Dr Ahmed Abdulai Jinapor, Mr John Owusu Amankrah, Mr Robert Orraca Tetteh, Nana Essilfuah Boison, Commissioner of Police Dr Peter A. Wiredu, of GIS, Mrs Adelaide Anno-Kumi, of the Ministry of the Interior and Mr Alexander Grant Ntrakwa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
Mr James Agaga, Deputy Minister of the Interior, who inaugurated the Board charged members to work assiduously to remove any rancour within the service.
The Deputy Minister administered the official oath of office and secrecy.
Mr Avoka thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the honour done them and assured him of their preparedness to work hard in building a responsible Immigration Service.
He also assured the staff and management of their resolution to assist the service to enhance its performance and operations.
“We need the cooperation of the ministry, management and the staff to enable us perform because the board alone cannot do anything,” he added.
Mr Avoka noted that Ghana Immigration Service plays a key role in selling the country because they are first to see foreigners entering into the country and the last to see them out of the country.
This, he said, calls for professionalism, discipline and compartment on the part of the personnel to portray a positive image of the country.
He said during his tenure of office as the Minister of the Interior, he proposed the arming of the Border Patrol Unit and it had been approved by the National Security Council but due change in government the decision had not been implemented.
He assured that the new board would revisit the decision and see how to fast track it.
On accommodation, Mr Avoka said government alone cannot build office accommodation throughout the country and called for private partners to assist.
He said there is the need to lobby the Metropolitan, Municipal and District assemblies to assist in their small ways.
“I know they have been doing that for some government institutions and they can as well assist the Immigration Service,” he added.
