Goal Scoring By Players Of Our National Team

It is an undeniable fact that Ghana plays one of the most beautiful football on the globe. Very sincere analysts will attest to the fact that even in the last World Cup, during the encounter with the Brazilians, Ghana played better and subjected the Brazilians to incessant attacks. The Brazilians were lucky to have ran away with a win.

The problem with our players is basically with ability to score goals. The problem is founded on:

1) the ability to focus on the space within the uprights when striking the ball 2) the inability of the boys to utilize the element of surprise in striking at goal 3) the lack of creativity in using the set pieces.

ADVICE Our coach should try to conscientise our players to be very confident when within the striking range and also have the position of the uprights in mind wherever they stand. Balls targeted at goal must always be directed down.

"One-touch" strikes must be uitlized very often and the success of them depend on having the position of the uprights in mind even when not facing them. They take goalkeepers unawares and the feeble among them can score.

On set pieces I will suggest some innovative ways to circumvent the human wall in the case of free-kicks and short passes during corner-kicks.
