THE ARCHBISHOP NICHOLAS DUNCAN-WILLIAMS ATO KWAMENA DADZIE SHOULD KNOW.

Lately, there is a man by name ATO KWAMENA DADZIE whose articles keep appearing on Myjoyonline and Ghanaweb. “THE ARCHBISHOP DOES IT AGAIN”, “THE DRUGS BOOM”, SMILE ALAN, SMILE WHILE YOU CAN”, are a few of his articles I have read. I find his style of writing very interesting but without substance. What Ato does best is paint a make-believe picture in the minds of his readers but ignorantly and deliberately does little to support his assertions. How could he, when he only speculates and assumes-saying things without facts to support them are nothing but speculations and assumptions! At best, Ato qualifies as a storyteller. I guess we should find him a job on the “BY THE FIRE SIDE” TV PROGRAMME.

A case in point was his piece on the Archbishop, Nicholas Duncan-Williams. His sets off by saying he does not like him. (I am not a fan of Nicholas Duncan-Williams).His reason, he does not like his message, wealth, style etc. BIG DEAL! Seriously, who cares if a journalist called ATO KWAMENA DADZIE is not a fan of the Archbishop of the Charismatic Movement of Ghana? At least, I do not!

What bothers me and I hope many other Christians, is when Ato launches a personal attack on the Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams. Saying he is a bad example to ‘Christians and non-believers alike’ is nothing but personal attack. At any rate, what makes him a bad example? Ok, so the man of God dresses elegantly, flies first class, Travels with his entourage, teaches people how to be rich (prosperity message), ‘Likes money a lot’. Since when in the Bible or even in society has it been wrong for a high profiled-person like the Archbishop to dress elegantly. Ato, I will show you the significance of dressing elegantly from the Bible. Remember what Joseph did when he was released from prison and appeared before the king? He ensured he looked his very best by wearing his best Robe (The special one his dad gave him). I did not quite understand what you meant when you said ‘he ‘blings’ himself up so much you will think he’s a part of Jay-Z’s Def Jam crew’. For Jay-Z does not own Def Jam, and I do not know if there is such a thing as Jay-Z’s Def Jam crew!

For your information, Ato, The Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams is the architect of the Charismatic Movement in Ghana. Many great men/women of God as well as churches find their roots in the man you Ato Kwamena Dadzie are not a “FAN”. Dr Mensah Otabil, Dag Heward-Mills, Eastwood Anaba, Buabasa, Ampiah Kwofie and many more are all people Duncan-Williams personally mentored. I also have to add that there is not a single growing or grown charismatic church in Ghana that exist without the Archbishop Duncan-Williams’ influence; directly or indirectly.

Therefore, the man you are not a “FAN” of is responsible for a movement, which numbers millions of people in Ghana alone. Some of the people who would have otherwise been armed robbers, murderers, and drug-addicts etc but are not because of the charismatic movement of which, you admit DUNCAN-WILLIAMS is one of the founders. Let us make it easy for you; he is like Reggie Rockstone in Hiplife!

I hesitate to delve into the spiritual impact of the Archbishops work because it is not my place to do that. Nevertheless, if you are a BORN AGAIN Christian and I hope you are, you will give the Archbishop his due respect. Quite incredibly, an individual in the person of Ato Kwamena Dadzie arrogantly arrogates unto himself God’s mandate by saying “Duncan-Williams is not as anointed as he might want us to believe”. Ato, can you please humble yourself for God to exalt you? You are gradually assuming God’s role as the ‘Judge of all Men’. Having said all that, I find it very refreshing that you rightly use certain words and I hope you chose them carefully.

In your note, you said “PS: I wrote all of this on the assumption that, perhaps, Duncan-Williams is not as anointed as he might want us to believe”.

Indeed, any serious-minded person ought to treat yours as nothing but an assumption! As far as the “Assumption” and “perhaps”, I will leave it that in the hands of the Heavyweights in art of Literature.
