President Mahama Must Give Up His Houses In The UK

Ghanaian Women against Poverty and Disease in the UK are calling on Ghana’s President John Mahama to walk the talk on supporting the welfare of children in Ghana by setting an example. They believe he can first of all give up his 3 houses he owns in the country .
Mrs Sandra Alhassan, Chairperson of the group at a social gathering to raise funds in Colliers Wood, in South West london to raise money for 6 orphanages in the Northern Region and Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana said it was appalling that the President soon after taking over from the late President Mills who actually declined salary increases for three years to authorize for himself such a huge amount of money when children were wallowing in poverty and providing three square meals a day for children in Ghana was still a challenge for most parents.
Mrs Alhassan said President Mahama must first give up his three houses and other properties he has purchased in the UK without the knowledge of Ghanaians since 2010.She said she missed President Mills a lot because he was simply incorruptible.
“The following addresses to my knowledge are houses owned by the current President: an exclusive £450,000 five bedroom house in Hawkesworth Drive, Bagshot Surrey not far from Michael Heseltine former Deputy Prime Minister under John Major’s house, a four bedroom house in Blackarce Road, Theydon Bois Essex costing £425,000 and a three bedroom house in Stonebridge, North London”. Mrs Alhassan said.
When asked to produce evidence, Mrs Alhassan a retired educationist profession produced some pictures and documents . She also told the gathering that an offshore bank Bradford and Bingley International based in the Isle of Man, may have facilitated some of these purchases which drew shouts of derision and anger .
Mrs Alhassan challenged the President to come out and give up these these houses ,sell them and give the money to charity to support Ghanaian children gain access to good healthy food and drinking water and also support the Ghana three square meals a day project by the group.
