Happy Birthday CPP

CPP Re-Energised By The Youth

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) is 59 years today. A majority of our country’s population were not born when the CPP was formed on the 12th June 1949.

The CPP is marking the event in many diverse ways but above all it is reminding people about the values that differentiate the CPP from other parties, captured thus:

• National Self Determination

• Social Justice

• Pan Africanism

This means Economic independence and well-being, meaningful employment, good health delivery, shelter, education and the pursuit of happiness in a free, peaceful and just society; a socio-economic order that guarantees equal opportunity for all, ensuring that the welfare of our entire people irrespective of sex, religion, social status, tribe or ethnicity; transparency at all levels of public administration and providing the opportunity for all to participate in the decision making processes locally and nationally; guarantee for our entire people full and equal access to the judicious use of our natural resources for the establishment of conditions for social and economic justice, and for the material and spiritual well-being of every citizen; essentially to stand for the hopes and aspirations of the majority, not the privileged few.

Many of the foot soldiers selling the CPP in Villages, Towns, Constituencies, Radio and TV stations today are young people in their teens, 20’s and 30’s , prompting many to say that “ the CPP is now the home of the youth”.

Examples of the youth who are energizing the CPP are Kweku Nkansah – CPP Parliamentary candidate for Offinso North, Osman Ahmed Okyere CPP Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Weija; and a brave young man taking the CPP battle to the very heart of NPP dominance – Manhyia Constituency. He is known simply as NKUNIM and his words are galvanizing the youth – “A NEW DAY HAS COME! This new day requires a new approach towards our individual lives, families, nation and above all, our God, …….. It’s in this new day that both our individual and collective destiny rests. This destiny of ours is inseparable with that of our nation Ghana and Africa as a whole. In effect, ladies and gentlemen, the destiny of this great nation, Ghana and indeed, the whole of the Black People is in our hands”…………. “What is currently at stake is not the destiny of our fathers and mothers but that of the youth, for it is our tomorrow that is being negotiated today! We will not, must not and can not negotiate for a future of doom anymore which will manifest in nothing but hunger, second hand clothing, shelter less shelter, illusive healthcare and an uneducated youth, fellow Ghanaians, Africa deserves better, Ghana deserves better and we, the youth certainly deserve a better life! Ladies and gentlemen, we must only settle for SOCIAL JUSTICE, WORK AND HAPPINESS! We emphasize here today that Ghana is the new spiritual and political ……. we must do everything possible to justify and sustain all that our fore bearers stood for. It is their philosophy, principles and sacrifice that has brought us thus far. A nation is built with the energy of the youth and the wisdom of the old!.........We, the youth of this country therefore strongly appeal to your conscience as you cast your vote. We must not disappoint the children, the youth and our future! MANHYIA and GHANA, we have had enough of the hopelessness!! Let us vote massively for our youth, our future! Let us vote for the NEW DAY represented by NKUNIM and the CPP!!

The words of this young man and many like him within the CPP today lies behind a much energised CPP. His words also continue a battle begin 59 years ago. Young Ghanaians are asking for deliverance on the basis of CPP ideas and policies. Many of our youth are asking for more information about the CPP, in search for an alternative because they understand that the liberal NDC and the conservative NPP governments have failed to advance Ghana on the path of wealth over the last 27 years.

We agree with the 80% of Ghanaians who live on less than $2 a day, that it is time for CPP Government.

Ghanaians today understand that instead of wealth for all, the liberal-conservative regimes have produced poverty, insecurity and dangerous division. They have produced corruption, intolerance and repression, and continue to masquerade as progressives.

They understand that the CPP is the best means by which we can build a just society in which the increasing standard of life of the majority is the benchmark for success.

Many are beginning to appreciate that with the CPP Ghana’s economy will begin to function to supply the goods and services that her people need through a national industrialization policy. That with wealth a CPP government will ensure our children will be in school; that we can provide health care for all our people, offer the opportunity for Ghanaians to lead a full cultural and spiritual life as a Christian under the guidance of the Almighty God and Father of all Spirits, as a Moslem under the guidance of the Ever Merciful and Ever Compassionate Allah, as a Traditional African under the guidance of the Ancestors.

Thus the CPP of today offers an alternative vision different to the NDC and the NPP who are both ardent disciples and apostles of policies which have failed the majority of Ghanaians.

We dedicate our birthday to the youth of Ghana who recognize that only the CPP will harness our countries resources to meet the popular needs and aspirations of the majority and ensure fair distribution among all our people whether busanga, wangara, mande-busanga, grusi, vagala, sisala, mo, kasena (paga), mole-dagbon, walba (wala), nanumba, nankansi and gurense, namnam (nabdon), mamprusi, kusasi, dagomba, dagarte (dagaba), builsa, (kangyaga or kanja), gurma, salfalba (sabulaba), pilapila, kyamba (tehamba, baasari), kokomba, bimoba, guan, yefi, Nchumuru, krachi, nkonya, gonja, cherepong, larte, anum, awutu, efutu, senya, avatime, nyongbo, tafi, akpafu, lolobi, likpe, ewe, ga-dangme, ga, dangme, wassa, sefwi, nzema, kwahu, fante, evalue, denkyira, chokosi, boron (brong) including banda, asen (assin), asante, aowin, akyem, akwamu, akuapem, ahanta, ahafo and agona among others..

Happy Birthday CPP
