John Yeboah To take on Music World

John Yeboah may not be known in the mainstream music circles, but he is not new in the local music industry after all. Holiday-makers who frequently cruise to Akosombo to have fun on the Dodi Princess boat would attest to the wonderful performance of the artiste who started his musical career over 10 years ago.

Yeboah joined the King?s Anchor band, which is based at Akrade near Akosombo as a leading vocalist and has thrilled fans, mostly expatriates who holiday at the Akosombo Volta Hotel, for over seven years.

The young artiste has now declared that the time has come for him to announce his presence on the gospel music scene and he is therefore preparing himself for the uphill task of surviving on the hectic local music scene.

Yeboah told the paper in an interview that he would be traveling to Germany at the invitation for a Ghanaian-based church to perform for the Christian community there.

He explained that the head pastor of the church, Rev. Mensah Bonsu, somewhere last year, visited his church, the United Bethel Pentecostal Ministry (UBPM) at Tema and saw him perfuming.

After the performance, Rev. Mensah Bonsu approached him and discussed the possibility of performing for his congregation in Germany, which he obliged.

According to him, he would be traveling with his backing vocalist in the person of Augustina Acheampong who has been his singing lieutenant over the years.

He continued that as soon as he returns from his trip, which is scheduled to last for two weeks, he would start work on his debut album so that he could release it before the Easter holidays.

Chronicle on Saturday would be monitoring this new but old music soldier and bring to our readers, further developments in his exploits.
