Accra, March. 28, GNA- Batman Samini, the Hip-life musician, who was recently adjudged the best Africa Artiste of the Year 2008 in a music awards held in Nigeria, has presented his award to the management of MTN Ghana.
The competition dubbed: Hip Hop World Music Awards saw artistes from various African countries competing. Samini said his category was a keenly contested one, involving Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria. He expressed his gratitude to MTN and Ghanaians in general for their support and dedication to the growth of his career adding, "This award does not belong to me alone but Ghana as a whole". Ms Mawuena Dumor, Corporate Services Executive, said Samini was an embodiment of the Company objectives of excellence, leadership and "can do spirit".
Mr George Andah, Chief Marketing Officer, said Samini's association with the company had gingered greater commitment to the music industry. "Samini's achievements only reinforce MTN's position as an organization, which stands for the 'can do spirit, leadership and excellence,'" he added.
