NDC against demonstration by splinter group

Koforidua, July 9, GNA - The New Juaben Municipal Co-ordinating Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Friday asked the police to stop an intended demonstration by a group calling itself 'Concerned NDC'.

A statement issued by the Chairman of the

Co-ordinating Committee of the party, Mr Owusu Boahene Koduro and the secretary, Mr Forster Tetteh claimed that none of the members of the splinter group are registered members of the party.

"None of them could also identify themselves with any of the branches of the party in the municipality," it said.

The statement alleged that members of the Concerned NDC group belong to the New Patriotic Party and not NDC and want to deceive the public by pushing through their diabolical agenda.

The party therefore appealed to the police not to grant members the permit to organise any demonstration on the ticket of the NDC.
