Beach master before tribunal for fraud

An Accra circuit tribunal is hearing the case in which Joseph Amoah, a beach master, allegedly posed as a landlord and defrauded=20 a business woman of 10.2 million cedis.

Amoah, who has pleaded not guilty to defrauding Madam Agnes Sackey, was granted 10 million cedis bail to reappear on March 29.

Police inspector Paul Frimpong told the tribunal that in August last year, the accused sold his uncompleted building to Madam Sackey for 10.2 million cedis.

According to the prosecution, when Madam Sackey made a search at Tema Development Corporation (TDC) ,she was told that the land did not belong to the accused. Madam Sackey, therefore, demanded a refund of her money but the accused has since failed to do so.
