GSE picks up once more

Accra, July 26, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) picked up again on Wednesday with a block sale of Accra Brewery Limited stocks after Monday's loss.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main market index, rose by 22 points to end the day at 7,123.05 points.

Total shares traded ended up at 7,694,900 shares with ABL alone selling six million shares and Pioneer Aluminium Factory 1.6 million shares.

Change for the year rose above the 100 per cent mark again to 100.46 per cent from 99.84 per cent and market capitalisation was also up at 97,236.02 billion cedis from 97,179.63 billion cedis.

On the broader market, there were four price changes, all positive. Standard Chartered Bank jumped up by 2,000 cedis at 102,000 cedis, Fan Milk Limited closed better by 400 cedis at 9,000 cedis, ABL rose by 50 cedis at 1,400 cedis and Clydestone was 24 cedis better at 1,176 cedis.
