Herbalist remanded for causing damage

Agona Swedru, March 12, GNA- A 65-year-old herbalist from Gomoa Tarkwa in the Central Region, has been remanded in prison custody by an Agona Swedru Circuit Court for causing unlawful damage to his girl friend's farm.

The plea of Kweku Kaah was not taken and he will re-appear on March 15. Police Chief Inspector H.N. Koffie told the court presided over by Mr Robert K. Asaase that the accused, who is also a farmer, was the boy friend of Madam Adjoa Botsiwah.

Both of them stayed together at Gomoa Tarkwa.

The prosecution said during their stay, Madam Botsiwa decided to end it all with the accused person.

Chief Inspector Koffie said the accused person became offended and collected panties and other items he bought for the woman. On February 28 this year, the accused person went to the complainant's farm and destroyed her pepper farm.

The prosecution said the next day the accused person again caused damage to the complainant's cassava and plantain farms all estimated at three million cedis.

Chief Inspector Koffie said after that the accused person went into hiding.

Accused person was later arrested from his hideout, the prosecution said.
