The Public Accounts Committee(PAC) of Parliament will resume sitting on Tuesday [25th April,2017] through to 28 of this month at Parliament house and institutions including the central bank, Ministry of Food and Agriculture have been invited to appear before committee, chairman of PAC, James Avedzie has said.

“We are looking at performance reports, foreign exchange receipts and payments of Bank of Ghana, so basically they are not MDA report where all the agencies would be mentioned one after the other. We would come to that later in the course of the year but for now we looking at only performance reports.

”he told the B&FT in an interview at a capacity building workshop organized by PAC under the auspices of Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH(GIZ) in Koforidua to assist the parliamentary press corps in their reportage on PAC sittings.

The issues to be considered by the committee includes reports on receipts and payment of foreign exchange transactions for the first and second quarters of 2015 of Bank of Ghana(BoG), performance report on disposal of government vehicles by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Ghana Health Service.

The Committee would also consider the performance report on drug use in Ghana by Food and Drugs Authority.

The PAC is assigned the role of examining the audited Public Accounts including the consolidated fund and other public accounts which are laid before Parliament by the Auditor General.
