Groupe Nduom has assured the public that the funds of customers at the GN Bank located at the premises of the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel which caught fire on Saturday, 22 April, are safe.

This was contained in a statement issued by Groupe Nduom Corporate Affairs Manager, Richmond Keelson on Sunday, 23 April, which emphasised that: “All customer funds are safe. All vaults have been recovered intact”.

The firm also said that disaster recovery procedures have been activated. As a result, GN Bank and Gold Coast Fund Management that were based at the hotel will open for business on Monday, April 24.

Several items were destroyed in the fire at the hotel, owned by businessman and politician Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom.

Meanwhile, former President John Dramani Mahama has sympathised with Dr Nduom and said the fire outbreak was a huge setback for Ghana’s hospitality industry.
