Seed growers to hold exhibition on Farmers' Day

The National Executive Council of the Seed Producers Association of Ghana (SEEDPAG) has called on its members across the country to actively participate in the celebration of the impending Farmers’ Day.

The Council, consequently, called on the regional executives of the association to mobilize their members to support the event and organize exhibitions at both the regional and district levels in their respective areas.

The General Secretary of the Association, Mr. Thomas Havoh, gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), after a meeting of the Council in Accra.

He urged also urged the regional branches to conduct their Annual General Meetings and prepare towards the National Annual General Meeting in March next year.

Mr Havoh tasked members to work towards the establishment of the Ghana Associations of Agricultural Business Information Centre-Seed Trade Association of Ghana, made up Croplife Ghana, importers of fertilizers and agro-chemicals, SEEDPAG, Ghana Agro-Input Dealers Association and the Apex Farmers Organization of Ghana, which are working together to promote the seed industry.

He explained that the GAABIC-Seed Trade Association of Ghana would be affiliated to the African Seed Trade Association and other world seed associations to enable the Ghana seed industry to be part of the world seed trade business.

Friday, December 5, is Farmers’ Day.
