Fuel prices go up by 3.04% from today

Ghanaians must brace up to pay more for fuel at the pumps beginning today, November 20, as the 17.5% increment on petroleum products takes effect.

Finance Minister Seth Terkper during the presentation of the 2015 budget Wednesday, presented the new petroleum bill to Parliament under a certificate of urgency.

The bill was subsequently passed into law by the Majority in the House after the Minority stormed out of the debate in disagreement with the increment.

Speaking to Starr News' Parliamentary Correspondent Kobyi Gomez Mensah, the Finance Minister said the increment is needed to support infrastructural development in the next fiscal year.

Under the new arrangement, Premium will see a rise of 3.04%, kerosene 2.85%, LPG -9.54%, while the price of Premix will remain the same.
