Late police Constable laid to rest

Beposo Feb. 7, GNA - The mortal remains of police Constable Yaw Owus= u Frimpong, one of the two policemen killed at Nakpanduri by the criminal, Johnson Kombian, was laid to rest at the weekend. Among the huge gathering of mourners at his Beposo home town in the Sekyere Central District were top ranking police officers, politicians and traditional rulers.

They included Deputy Commissioner of Police David Asante-Apiatu, Director-General, Research and Planning, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ofosu-Mensah Gyeabour, Director-General, Welfare, Director General of Services, Mr David Appau-Ohyeamang, Asante-Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Ebenezer Akuoko-Frimpong, Sekyere Central District Chief Executive and the Omanhene of Beposo, Nana Boamah Kwabi IV. The Very Reverend Jonas Aboagye, the Ashanti Regional Chaplain of the Ghana Police Service who officiated at the burial service, reminded all to accept to do what is right during their life time. It should not be lost on them that one day they would appear before th= e judgment of their Creator to account for their stewardship. The late Constable Frimpong and two other colleagues, Constable Prince Agyare and Lance Corporal Osei Bonsu, were ambushed and shot by a gang of criminals suspected to have been led by Kombian whilst on patrol duties in October last year.

Kombian fled to Togo but was arrested in November last year with the assistance of Interpol and brought back to the country to face justice. He is now serving a six-year prison term for breaking jail and is yet to be arraigned for the murder of the two policemen. 7
