Accra bourse maintains steady rise

Accra, Aug. 22, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) went up 11.61 per cent on the back of a 2,000-cedi gain by Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).

The Index rallied to close at 4,891.22 points compared to 4,879.61 points registered at the previous session on Monday. Change for the year ended at 2.56 per cent.

Shares traded fell from 177,100 shares to close at 31,400 shares. There were four price changes, all gains.

Standard Chartered Bank gained 2,000 cedis at 139,000 cedis, Fan Milk Limited was up two cedis at 16,014 cedis, ECOBANK Ghana made one cedi at 11,801 cedis and Aluworks one cedi at 6,805 cedis. Market Capitalisation was up at 97,456.39 billion cedis from 97,420.96 billion cedis.
