Man Arrested in Stabbing

NY, USA -- A Ghanaian in Oswego County man has been arrested in the stabbing of his ex-girlfriend. As of Sunday night, his ex-girlfriend was in the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

On Saturday night, police were called to the Parkview Place apartments in Granby around 8 o?clock. That's where they arrested 22 year old Richard Yankah. He allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend Lateesha Alexander several times in the neck and chest.

Police say her sister, Tanisha Alexander got caught up in the fight, and was cut on the arm. Police say Yankah is a citizen of Ghana, Africa. They are looking to see if he was living in the US illegally.

US Border Patrol is assisting the state police to determine the status of Yankah?s residency. It appears his visa may be expired. Yankah is charged with several counts of assault. He is in the Oswego County jail.
