Bonwire Supports EU Projects

BONWIRE citizens resident in Holland have contributed 2,200 euros (?20million) towards a ?2.4billion school complex funded by the European Union for the community.

The district assembly and the community are contributing 10% of the total cost of the project. The contribution is in response to an appeal by the Queenmother, Nana Nyarko Frempomaa to citizens resident abroad, to help he community raise its share of ?120million towards the project.

Mr. Richard Kufuor Agyemang, on behalf of the donors presented the amount to Nana Nyarko Frempomaa at a ceremony at Bonwire.

He appealed to Bonwire citizens in other parts of the world to respond positively to the Queenmother's appeal to transform the community.

Kufuor Agyemang commended the government for the level of development at Bonwire two years into office, and urged all sons and daughters of Bonwire to supplement government's effort to ensure rapid development of the place.

He also commended the Queenmother for being instrumental in the development of the community. Kufuor assured further assistance to the community's development.

According to him, the Bonwire Citizens Union in Holland would soon draw a development plan for implementation back home. The plan would be funded solely by the union.
