Nana Akufo Addo worships with Congregation at The Miracle Centre in London

Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo on Sunday joined the congregation of the Miracle Centre Assemblies of God in Tottenham, London to worship in their end of year thanksgiving service. Accompanied by Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo, Nana Addo was warmly welcomed by the head of the church Rev Alex Donkor accompanied by a short biography of Nana. In his response, Nana Addo thanked the church for organising the thanksgiving service and giving him the opportunity to interact with the congregation and he said thanksgiving is befitting for the year that saw a long court case to determine the outcome of our general elections and also for the peace that Ghana was enjoying as a result. He expressed his appreciation to the church, its congregation and the people of London for the great deal of benevolence and honour done to him while he has been in UK. He however informed the congregation that he would be returning to Ghana after Christmas to continue with his responsibilities. He also wished former president JA Kufuor a happy 75th birthday and asked for special prayers for the life and soul of Nelson Mandela
In a powerful sermon preached by Rev Eric Boahene, Entitled "Moving Forward", he gave moving examples from the Bible on how people who have preserved in the name of God have always achieved results. He gave words of encouragement to the congregation not to stop themselves and remain like battery chicken but break out like eagles and soar higher. Referring to the story of the four bold lepers from 2 King v7 he said the boldness of the lepers and their trust in God made their footsteps sound like chariots, horses and a great army that made the enemies flee. Again using the story of Gideon and the 300 warriors from the Book of the Judges, he quoted “The LORD said to Gideon, "You have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands. In order that Israel may not boast against me that her own strength has saved her, announce now to the people, 'Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.' “So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained. But the LORD said to Gideon, "There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say, 'This one shall go with you,' he shall go; but if I say, 'This one shall not go with you,' he shall not go." So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the LORD told him, "Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink." Three hundred men lapped with their hands to their mouths. All the rest got down on their knees to drink. The LORD said to Gideon, "With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his own place." So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites to their tents but kept the three hundred, who took over the provisions and trumpets of the others. With the 300 men the Lord saved Israel” he concluded.
He urged the congregation to continue to fight on as soldiers of the Lord. He stressed on the need for unending faith in God in pursuing our dreams and urged the entire congregation not to give up in life as that could count as failure.
At the end of the service, a team of pastors from the church prayed for Nana Akufo Addo and his wife, prayed for an wished former President Kufuor a happy birthday and also prayed for the life and soul of Nelson Mandela. The children from the church Sunday school also strolled in at the end to pay a special tribute to Nana Akufo Addo and his wife. Nana Akufo Addo was accompanied by the executives and members of NPP UK to the service.
