Ewe Dukor Union (Germany) Holds Conference In Hamburg

The first National Delegates conference of Ewe Dukor Union of Germany was held in the city of Hamburg on Saturday 22nd May, 2010 at Washington Allee 65a.
The meeting was hosted under the auspices of Ewe Dukor union of Hamburg with large turn- out of Delegates and non-Delegates from Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Oberhausen and Frankfurt. In the welcome address, the Host vice President of Hamburg Ewe union, Mr. Dameshie Brown, briefed the audience about the importance and relevance attached to convening such historical conference. He however stressed that, such get-together has brought about unification of Ewe ethnic groups from Ghana, Togo and Republic of Benin to enhance family relationship in terms of Ewe culture and Tradition.
Mr. Simon Mensah, National General Secretary was also present to read the minutes taken from previous meetings. The Guest of honour of the occasion was Dr.John Attipoe, whilst Mr. Daniel Torkornoo; the National President, gave a brief report on registration of Ewe Dukor union of Germany as against financial obligations being inevitable challenges that confronted the union.
The colourful event attracted an array of high profiled dignitaries including, Apetor Awumah of Bremen; Dr. Yao Amengor, of Oberhausen – Germany.
The patrons and executive members controlling the affairs of Ewe Dukor union of Hamburg branch were present at the meeting to give their moral support. They were Mr. Jerry Addo (President, Ewe Union of Hamburg), Madam Pat Govina (National Finance Secretary), Mr. Philip Awanyo (National Cultural Organizer), Mr. Christian Segbewu (Secretary), Mr. Mike Larweh (Patron), Armstrong Kelly (Executive Member), and Madam Esi Akabutu (Member).
Others were Mr. Clement Zano, Madam Esther Grobe, Madam Helen Kokoroko, Mr. Vincent Peddy, Mr. Ashietey Zigah (all elderly Ewes resident in Hamburg). Also a group of Elderly ‘’Old Burger’ ’Seamen were in attendance to cheer the occasion up.
In another development, consensus was reached to appoint Mr.Charles Forson and Ms. Gifty Hildebrand, all of Bremen Ewe Dukor union to hold positions of National Assistant Secretary and Bremen branch women organizer respectively.
Eventually, a motion was adopted by all to hold the forth-coming inauguration of Ewe Dukor Berlin branch, scheduled in 2012 whereas the next National Delegates conference comes on in Bremen City of Germany in next summer 2011.
The occasion was however graced by Ewe musical entertainment with Agbadza dance. Local dishes and drinks of all kinds were served. The Hostesses of the occasion were: Madam Mary Kelly and Madam Esther Semador.
