Press Statement From Some Ewe Organisations In The Diaspora

We citizens of anlo state in the diaspora, supported by our kinsmen of the ewe nation have witnessed the most deplorable development in anlo state in the last few days.

We hereby express our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the state of anlo in their time of sorrow and instability.

We wish to register our strongest protest to all factions in the awomefia saga, which has led to the loss of life of our dear brothers and sisters. We wish to make it clear to all parties involved and to all citizens of anlo state that the overiding focus of the anlo state should be development and the welfare of its citizens.

We call for a complete and total cessation of hostilities to pave way for tranquility, unity and a serene environment for the resolution of the conflict leading, hopefully, to the installation of a legitimate awomefia.

We wish to remind the anlo state that a state without a head and hence without a development agenda and focus, would certainly derail into unnecessary conflict. We challenge all peace-loving anlos to stand up at this moment of chaos, anarchy and dispespect for the views of others and remind the anlo state that peace and prosperity is the only basis for the development of nation states.

We must believe in our capacity as a people of goodwill, courage and fortitude. The anlo state will rise again. Let us look forward with optimism and love and care for each citizen.
