US-based couple donates medical accessories to hospital

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Oct. 21, GNA 96 The Dormaa District Chapter of the Assemblies of God Church has presented assorted medical accessories valued at 50 million cedis to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

The items were donated by Dr Mark Kofford and his wife Jennis, based in California, USA, in fulfilment of a promise they made when they visited and offered free medical care in March, this year. Among the items were an anaesthetic machine, a delivery bed, clutches children's clothes and drugs.

Presenting them, the Dormaa District Pastor of the church, Felix John Yeboah noted that the tremendous role of the Hospital in ensuring good health for the people cannot be over-emphasized. Pastor Yeboah explained that the Church's efforts to evangelize and build the spiritual capacity of members would come to nothing if it fails to complement government's policies on the provision of basic health care for the people.

=93In the light of this conviction, the Assemblies of God Church will blend evangelisation with a comprehensive social responsibility policy to enhance the all-round development of both members and non-members=94, the Pastor added.

He pledged that the Church would continue to liaise with relevant and willing bodies abroad to ensure the Hospital's regular access to basic equipment for health care delivery. The Acting General Manager of the Hospital, Dr David Agyapong thanked the church and the donors for making good their promise and urged other organisations, especially Dormaa citizens abroad to emulate the gesture.
