Toronoto-based Ghanaian made Chief

Akyem Brenase, Jan. 09 GNA - Mr Franklin Ben Awuakye, a 53-year-old Ghanaian based in Toronto, Canada, was last Monday installed as the chief of Akyem Brenase in the Birim North District under the stool name Nana Amoabengko 111.

The new chief, who automatically becomes the Adontehene of the Akyem Bosome Traditional Area, succeeded his uncle Nana Amoabengko 11 who is now aged.

Swearing the oath of allegiance, Nana Amoabengko thanked the elders for the confidence reposed in him and assured them that he would prove equal to the task.

He appealed for cooperation from his people to help move the town forward.

Nana Amoabengko appealed to them to rekindle their communal spirit reminding them that the government would only assist communities that take the initiate to undertake their own self-help projects. Nana Kwateman Munkyin 11, the queen of the Akyem Bosome Traditional Area, appealed to the people to guard against acts that would undermine the progress of the town.
