Offinsoman Union in Virginia End of year Dinner Dance

The Offinsoman Union of Virginia climaxed the year’s activities with a dinner celebration held on Saturday, December 29, 2007. It was massively attended by the union members, families and friends. It began with a key note address from the president of the Union - “I am thrilled that so many of you have found time in your hectic schedules to be here tonight for such an important occasion. “Welcome to our Christmas Party” said the President, Mr. Isaac Owusu Ansah. He showed appreciation to all the members, supporters and executives of the Union for their relentless and selfless support they have shown to the Union and the people of Offinso over the past five years. The president elaborated on the new initiatives and developments laid down to make the year ahead successful. He lamented on the need for each and every member to help in their own little way to strengthen the education and health system in the District. Mr. Owusu Ansah urged the members to tighten their seat belts, and get fully prepared for the year ahead. He challenged them to show extra commitment, and assured them that the New Year will bring happiness and better lifestyles for the people of Offinso. “The kindness, effort and love that we have shown to ourselves and the people of Offinso will never be sterile but will bring joy and prosperity”.

Mr. James Owusu Kwarteng on behalf of the Union, presented certificate of appreciation to the following Union Members; Mrs. Rosina Owusu Ansah, Patricia Yaafi, Kingsley Duah, James Boating, Stephen Asare Mensah, Florence Boateng, William Agyeman, Clement Owusu Agyeman, “aka” “Gigaw” Kwame Baah, “aka” Bursa and James Boateng, “aka” “Iron Boy” as a grateful recognition of their excellent attendance and fulfillment of their obligation and dedication to the Union.
Offinsoman Union in Virginia is a non-profit organization set up to support and contributes to the development of the Offinso District and the nation as a whole. Membership is open to both native residents of Offinso and non-native members residing in the Diaspora. The Union is financed by the contributions and donations given by its members. Their overall objective is to ensure that the local citizens will have access to the basic facilities needed to make Offinso a better place to live. Their support and contributions are not only limited to extending help to the local citizens back home, but also among members and their families living in the Washington Dc Metro area.

The president went on to say that none of the years activities would have been possible without the tremendous support of its members. He expressed his personal appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all of the members for maintaining their resilience, fortitude and most of all, their humanity throughout the challenges of the year. “I wish you and your families a happy new year”.
