Nana Akufo-Addo to visit U.S. (Update)

Excitement is mounting over the impending visit of Ghana's Foreign Minister and New Patriotic Party presidential hopeful, Nana Akuffo-Addo, to the United States.
Supporters from Canada, who got word that their idol could not touch their base because of time constraint, have already served notice that they are flying down to New York to meet with him.
Throwing some light on the visit, Mr. Steve Mallory, North America Coordinator of Friends of Nana Akufo-Addo (FONAA) said the minister will be visiting Washington DC next week and at the weekend, he will visit Boston, New York and Dallas for a series of events.
Mr. Mallory, a senior Ghanaian journalist who is the Executive Editor of General Media Strategies, Inc., publishers of the African-American Observer, the New York Journal and Ghanaian Drum in New York, said on April 27th, the minister would deliver two papers at the Boston University and the Suffolk University Law School, both in Massachusetts. For the Boston University event the topic will be: The Rule of Law and Government: Challenges and Prospects, a Perspective from the African Union while the topic for the Suffolk University Law School will be: The Rule of Law and Human Rights: Darfur, a Perspective from the African Union.
The next day, he said, Nana Akufo-Addo would arrive in New York to meet with Ghanaian professionals and the NPP members. A fund-raising dinner dance at the Cocoa House in the Bronx would climax the New York program, he added. Tickets for the dinner at which the presidential aspirant will be the special guest of honor, are almost sold out.
Mr. Mallory said on Sunady April 29, the NPP's Presidential Candidate would proceed to meet the Ghanaian Community in Dallas where another banquet will be held in his honor.
According to Mr. Mallory, a flood of enquiries was pouring in from anxious Ghanaians asking about what roles they could play to support Nana's cause.
Nana Akuffo-Addo is one of over a dozen presidential aspirants of the ruling NPP but he is heavily tipped to succeed President J. A. Kufuor, not only as the party's flagbearer but also, the next president of Ghana.
