NDC UK and Ireland congratulates Alex Sebgefia

Accra, Feb. 24, GNA - The UK and Ireland Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated Mr Alex Segbefia on his appointment as President John Evans Atta Mills' Deputy Chief of Staff.

"We believe, the choice of Mr Segbefia, the current Chairman of the NDC UK & Ireland and Secretary to the Government Transitional Team to the heart of the Presidency is a wise decision, as we strongly believe Mr Segbefia will use his legal and managerial experience to enrich the work of the presidential team at the Castle," it said in a statement received in Accra on Tuesday from Mr Kwame Agbodza of the Public Relations Unit of the NDC UK/Ireland.

"We also hope Mr Segbefia and his team will work tirelessly to focus the Presidency on governance that is transparent, accountable, and capable of achieving a just social democratic society in Ghana," it said.

The NDC UK & Ireland branch also lauded the appointment of Mrs Betty Mould -Iddrisu, a leading member of NDC UK & Ireland, as the first female Attorney General and Minster of Justice of the fourth Republic of Ghana

"We all join in sending our very best wishes to Alex and Betty for the future and hope they will encourage and inspire their respective teams to work hard to make Ghana a better place for all."

It urged NDC members to close their ranks and rally behind the President and whoever he appointed to his team, so that we can work together to make Ghana a better place for us all. "We all have a part to play in ensuring the success of NDC and Ghana, even if we are not appointed to serve at the frontline at this moment."
