NDC Atlanta Congratulates President Mills

, AND CALLS FOR
ALL TO GET ON-BOARD.

NDC Atlanta wishes to congratulate H.E Prof. J.E.A Mills for the landslide victory he recorded at the most well organized delegate congress ever in the annals of the new wind of political dispensation blowing in mother Ghana. We also salute H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings for her courage and high level of political astuteness, and we humbly call on her to bring her experience to bear in our quest to retain power in 2012. NDC Atlanta is very much impressed with the unifying victory speech given by President Mills at Sunyani and hereby appeals to all true lovers of our great party to rally behind the President as we prepare to permanently retire Nana Akufo Addo in 2012.
As the President did acknowledge that there are some teething problems within the party, NDC Atlanta is appealing to the National Executives and the Council of Elders to identify and address these problems at the various constituencies without delay. NDC Atlanta also wishes to appeal to the President to go the extra mile in bringing all interest groups on board in our campaign trail for the 2012 elections.

There is no doubt about the great leadership abilities that the President has demonstrated so far in governing this country of ours as evidenced in the numerous developmental and monumental achievements recorded in just a little over two years in office, a breakthrough which is unmatched in the history of Ghana. It is the believe of NDC Atlanta that if our party adopts a strategy of getting all aggrieved groups on-board during the 2012 electioneering campaign, victory for President Mills will be like the results from the Sunyani congress. Ghanaians shall surely and definitely endorse him again for another term.

Meanwhile at the just ended monthly meeting of NDC Atlanta, there was a general consensus that our Ministers must stop assuming the roles of our Party executives as occasioned in the frequent rush of some of them to media houses on issues relating to internal party affairs. The Ministers should rather concentrate on issues relevant to their respective ministries and how to help consolidate the gains so far chalked, build on it, to ensure a total delivery of the better Ghana agenda. By so doing, we are encouraging the National Executives to take up the mantle of defending issues bordering on our party while the ministers defend government policies and developmental agendas as pertain in their various ministries. The recently held delegate congress had rejuvenated our grassroot base and this momentum has to be kept and built on to make election 2012 a mere formality.
It is the wish of NDC Atlanta that a day will be set aside to acknowledge the contribution of our Founder H.E. Flt Lt. J.J. Rawlings and all the Founding members to our great party. As the years go by, the developments, achievements and the evolution occurring within our party must be acknowledged and documented for future generation. There are other great founding members of our party that the youth are not even aware of. We also appeal to our Founder to document the events of June 4th, 31st December and the PNDC, NDC1 and NDC2 eras in a form of a memoir. What we read and hear are occasional speeches regarding what transpired during those times. For now, there are no documents written by him on such important events in the history of our country which can educate the youth about where we were before, where we are now, and what we need to do to get to where want to go. Most importantly, we need a written document by H.E about June 4th, because the principles of June 4th underlie the philosophy behind NDC. We do not want history to be distorted by the so-called historians with political affiliations, as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s legacy is being massaged, diluted and distorted.

NDC Atlanta wishes President Mills and Flt Lt. J.J. Rawlings, good health and long lives and that come 2012, together we will all campaign to give the score line, President Mills, two; Akufo-Addo, nil.

Long Live President Mills,
Long Live NDC,
Long Live Mother Ghana.
EDEM KPLIVI
(SEC. NDC ATLANTA)
