More Faith Church in US adopts Daboya Health Centre

Tamale, Sept. 11, GNA- More Faith in Christ International Mission, (MFCIM) a US Charismatic Church has adopted the Daboya Health Centre in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region to improve quality health care delivery in the area.

The leadership of the church through Madam Margaret Alimatu Zakariah of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Accra, on Friday presented a quantity of drugs and medical equipment valued at about 150 million cedis through the Northern Regional Health Directorate to the centre. The equipment included metal beds, mattresses, theatre gowns, Syringes, bed sheets and pillowcases, used clothing, crutches, gloves, and blood warming kits.

Presenting the items, Madam Zakariah said Bishop Spanford Essilfie, Head of the Church in New York, USA, has interest in improving quality health care delivery to attract health personnel to work at the Centre. She said the Church would complement the government's efforts in equipping the rural health centres with aids.

She appealed to the government to upgrade the Daboya centre and provide a vehicle to convey patients on referral cases to Tamale and other medical centres.

Dr Akwasi Twumasi, Senior Medical Officer in charge of Public Health who received the equipment on behalf of the centre assured Madam Zakariah and the Church that the items would be taken care of.
