Mahama to interact with Ghanaians in Worcester

As part of his official trip to the United States for the United Nations General Assembly meeting later this month, the President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama is scheduled for a series of high level investment meetings, academic lectures, and social interactions with Ghanaians in the North-Eastern part of America, otherwise referred to as New England.

Sources close to Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the UN as well as the seat of government in Accra, Ghana have confirmed.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the president and his entourage will be in Boston and Worcester all in Massachusetts after his UN assignment. The climax of this eventful occasion for the Diasporas in New England will be a formal interactive meeting in Worcester, with the entire Ghanaian Community in Massachusetts and neighboring States as well as distinguished invited persons from different backgrounds and orientations.

President Mahama will also have a private meeting with all NDC-USA Executive Members. During the meeting in Worcester, the president is expected to present a comprehensive state of the nation address and the strategic vision to move the country forward. He will also highlight on investment opportunities in Ghana, West Africa, and Africa as a whole to potential investors.

The President, together with his ministers, will answer questions pertaining to the development and welfare of Ghanaians at home and abroad in an open forum. As the current Chairman of head of States of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) the Ghanaian President is expected to provide an overview of the state of affairs in the West African Sub-Region on a wide range of issues in a face-to-face setting with his West African folks.

In the light of the above, all Ghanaians, and for that matter Africans, as well as the good people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and beyond are cordially invited to attend this eventful meeting and grace the occasion.
