Kwahuman Europe End Of Year Conference , Brescia- Italy

Kwahuman Europe, the Umbrella Union and mouth-piece of Kwahu citizens in Europe,currently made up seven National Associations from the European Community, namely Belgium,France Germany, Italy, Netherlands, UK and Switzerland,will meet in Brescia, a northern city of Italy for an end-of-year -Conference starting from the 19th - 21st November 2010.

The theme of the 3-Day Conference is entitled“ Finding Sustainable Solutions to Problems Facing the Kwahu Traditional Area”,The conference will be attended by delegates from all the Seven -Member Associations from the European community,to deliberate on the issue at hand, as well as other matters facing the Union.

Speaking on behalf of the Union's President Dr. Abena Keller-Agyepong, at a press conference in Brescia Italy,the General Secretary,Mr.Kwabena Asante thanked the host Country Italy for accepting the responsibility of hosting this important Euro-Conference that brings all the executive members together to deliberate on issues as well as strengthen the unity between the members.

He narrated that the vision,wish and hope of the President is that all Kwahu Citizen shall embrace the notion of unity among Kwahus in the diaspora and with the united force undertake projects geared towards uplifting the socio-economic, educational, and the health status of the Kwahu Traditional Area,thereby being helpful agents in the development of the area and Ghana as a whole.. The formation of Kwahuman Europe as well as Kwahuman North America Inc. is a welcomed and hopeful step towards the eventual fulfillment of this vision. Both Unions have the intention of collaborating with each other on future major projects in the area.

He reminded the estimated five hundred registered members of the Union and those at large of their personal engagement and commitment to help fulfill the targeted goals and objectives of the Union in the development of the traditional area.

The Special Guest of Honour to grace the occasion will be Mr Seth Kwame Acheampong ,Honourable Member of Parliament of the Mpraeso Constituency,

His presence, input and contribution on the topic of the Conference will help the Union in the Identification of specific problems facing the Kwahu Traditional Area and focus on finding solutions to them

The 3- Day conference will also be an occasion for Kwahuman Europe to launch the DVD of their Inauguration Event held in Amsterdam earlier this year. The General Secretary appealed to the general public and all members of the union to purchase a copy or two of the DVD featuring the latest live performance of Nana Kwame Ampadu and Daasebre Dwamena. Other interesting attractions on the DVD is a display of the majestic beauty of traditional chiefs performing traditional dance to drums, showing our rich cultural heritage.

Another highlight of the DVD is the Miss Kwahuman Europe Beauty Pageant. The DVD is set in 44 parts and is sold at a reasonable price. Each purchase will help to raise funds for future projects and also the financial stability of the newly formed Kwahuman Europe.
