Inquest to examine the death of an Arbroath woman in Ghana

Charmain and husband Eric Charmain and husband Eric

Charmain Adusah was found dead in a bath at a hotel in Koforidua in March last year.

Her husband Eric was subsequently charged with murder, but this court case collapsed last October due to a lack of evidence.

However, when Charmain’s body was returned to Britain in November, Essex Police launched their own investigation into her death.

Following their post-mortem, an inquest will be held in Essex in August.

Charmain’s mother Linda Speirs said she hopes the investigation on British soil will finally “ get to the bottom” of her daughter’s death.

Mrs. Speirs has also recently received documents from the Ghana investigation which suggest that her daughter may have been suicidal.

She described the report from the Ghana Attorney General’s office as “full of lies”.
