Illegal Ghanaians busted in site raid

Telford, UK -- Twenty four migrant workers were being detained today after they were found working illegally at a factory in Telford, following a raid by immigration services.

Workers from Ghana, Yemen, Afghanistan, the Ukraine, Egypt and Algeria were among those being held, the Home Office revealed.

A total of 35 people, found working at DENSO Manufacturing UK Ltd, have been detained by the Immigration Service. Twenty four of these have been served with papers for working in Britain illegally.

A Home Office spokeswoman said a further four workers at the Hortonwood firm had claimed asylum. But she denied rumours that a separate Telford factory had also been targeted.
