Hospital receives assistance from donor

Nsawam, June 26, GNA - Mr. Peter Osei Mensah, a Ghanaian based in Germany on Tuesday called on Ghanaians resident outside the country to come home with some of their earnings to support orphanage homes, institutions, hospitals and the needy.

Mr. Osei Mensah, who is a citizen of Adoagyiri near Nsawam made the call after donating ten pieces of vono mattresses valued at five million cedis to the Nsawam Government Hospital.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency, he said the items were his personal contribution towards the up-keep of the patients of the hospital, especially the children's ward.

Mr. Peter Kofi Sasu, a brother and an educationist who presented the items on behalf of Mr Mensah, said the family of the late Opanyin Sasu Tawiah of which the donor belonged had planned to adopt the children's ward.

Mr. Kofi Sasu said the donation would not be a one-day wonder but would be a continuous one.

Mrs. Grace Bossah, Acting District Director of the Nursing Services of Akwapim South District who received the items on behalf of Dr. Albert Benneh, Senior Medical Officer in-charge of the hospital thanked the donors for the gesture.

Mrs. Bossah said the items would be put to good use and appealed to other philanthropists and benevolent societies to emulate the donor.
