Godson-Afful presents new kits to Tadi United FC

A U.K. based Minister, Educationist and social commentator Henry Godson-Afful has presented new set of football kits to newly formed Takoradi United Football Club popularly known as Afful Babies. The team which is based in the heart of Assikafoambantem No.1 & 2 community of Takoradi in the Western region was formed by the philanthropist and football enthusiasts who has in the past supported local projects in the community and helped to bring hope to young people in the area.

Accompanying him to unveil the new kids were Bismark Mensah a former Black Starlet player and a host of football supporters and community leaders.

The coach of the team Mr. Gabriel thanked the support they have received from Henry Godson-Afful and pledged make good use of the equipments and work hard as a team to make Tadi United and the city of Takoradi proud. He said since the team was formed, a lot of young people have been taken off the street and given a productive way of using their time rather than going into crime. He said he is very hopeful that great stars will be produced out of this team.

Mr. Afful called on people within the metropolis to throw their weight behind the team in cash and kind to push the team where it belongs. He said Sekondi has produced great teams like Eleven Wise and Hasaacas and Takoradi can do better by giving to support to this new team too. He thanked all the patrons and people from Lanfranc in Croydon, UK who have also supported the team.
