Ghanaians in the UK pray for the nation

A Special Day of Prayer has been held in London for the nation. The purpose of the event was to invoke God’s blessing for the nation in the task of nation building.

Prayers were said for the President HE John Agyekum Kufuor, Ministers of State, Government functionaries, Civil and Public Servants, the Security services, workers and farmers. Special prayers were also said for the stability of the nation, peace and unity, prosperity and growth of the economy, social and economic development of the nation.

The event, the brainchild of Rev. Gladys Nsonyamye-Yeboah of In His Presence Ministries International, was organised by Reconciliation International Church under the auspices of Bishop Dr. Kwaku Frimpong-Manson, Free Standing Bishop at the Apostolic Congress of Great Britain responsible for the North London community.

Present at the event were HE Mr Isaac Osei, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, his wife Mrs Marian Osei and family, Mr Kwabena Baah-Duodu, Deputy High Commissioner, senior officials of the Mission and representatives of the Ghanaian community associations.

Officiating at the solemn event were a number of Ghanaian pastors including Bishop Prince Hampel, Liberty Ministries International, Bishop Henry Kontoh, Riches of Grace Ministries, Rev. Dr. Badu of Christ Evangelical Church Ministries, Pastor Alex Gyasi, Highway of Holiness Ministries and Pastor Margaret MaCarthy, Jubilee Living Ministries.

Others were Rev. & Mrs Mensah Bonsu, the Light of Word Ministries, Pastor David Ofori-Adjei, Grace Church International, Rev. Effah Gyamfi of House of Prayers Ministries, Pastor Felix Appeagyei, Rehobath Foundation and Rev. Emmanuel Taby of Macedonna House of Faith.

The running theme of the sermons delivered at the event centred on the need for Ghanaians to rally round the Government in its search for progress and prosperity for the country.

They were emphatic that the current developmental agenda of the Government would lead the country out of its present predicament and exhorted Ghanaians to be patient and pray ceaselessly for the attainment and realisation of all goals and objectives they had set for themselves to achieve during the year.

HE Mr Osei commended the initiators for instituting the prayer event and urged the organisers to consider making it a permanent feature on the calendar of activities of Community associations in the UK.

Bishop Dr Frimpong-Manson had earlier called on the High Commissioner during which he briefed him on the programme of activities to mark his recent consecration as a free Standing Bishop.

Mr Osei commended Bishop Frimpong-Manson for his elevation and exhorted him to continue to let the light shine wherever he would be called upon to minister to all those seeking assistance.

He praised Bishop Frimpong-Manson for his active involvement in all community affairs especially in health promotion, palliative care, bereavement support services and youth related issues.

He noted that Bishop Frimpong-Manson’s elevation should serve as an inspiration to all Ghanaians in the UK who are making strides in various fields and added that his elevation demonstrated what a determined individual could achieve if he remained resolute in the pursuits of his goals and objectives.
