Ghanaians In Canada Achieve Another Feat.

Incidence of stabbing, shooting, which results in killing of Ghanaian youth in Canada, have gone down drastically over a short period.

Thanks to the ministers of God who campaigned seriously against it by using their pulpits to preach against all acts that causes this youth child killings in the Ghanaian communities here when the issue was getting out of hand.

Of course parents could not be left out of the net as they took extra responsibility this time of their children by brooding over them like ducks providing the necessary protection the children need to avoid getting involved in those unwanted deaths.

But as we rejoice over achieving this feat of bringing youth killings down in our various communities, it is also important for us to look back and find out what actually was causing these avoidable deaths of our young boys and girls.

One could realize that all those stabbings and shootings which resulted in killings of the youth took place mainly deep in the night or late in the evenings either at night clubs, parties or other events held by people from other countries but resident in Canada.

Often than not, records indicates that most deaths resulted out of mere arguments between these Ghanaian youths and friends from other countries where least they are angry, pull the trigger to shoot and kill or pull the knife to stab and kill.

As already said, these incidents happens deep in the night where parents have left their children in their various homes and were attending funerals, birth day parties, naming ceremonies as well as other social events. These young guys also feeling lonely and needing company decides to go out and socialize with friends and here they fall into the company of gangs who introduce them to various criminal acts that brings abrupt end to their lives.

Even before the incidents of youth murder got escalated, so many people expressed concern about the way those aforementioned events are organized by Ghanaians in the country.

I personally have complained about the timing of holding such events deep in the night which does not serve any good to anybody. Sometimes bereaved families holding a funeral fixe the time at 10:00p.m but the actual event starts at 1:00 a.m. which sounds very ridiculous.

Reason given to this wrong timing of events are that often times people go to work and close late therefore fixing the time at such will give them the opportunity to participate in the event which again is very ridiculous. This is because people turn out to complain of the timing more than anything as often times they return from work very tired and needed to rest but have to sacrifice that and attend a funeral, party or what have you, creating more stress for themselves than releasing it.

What is so funny is that usually the funerals are for persons who died in Ghana and relatives here in Canada decide to hold a funeral to bid them fare thee well. No body can stop anyone from holding funeral or any party in Canada, but if the timing of holding such social events could be considered more likely between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00p.m. on Saturdays it will be laudable as it will solve a whole lot of problems.

Having argue my points further, let us give our respectable ministers of God, chiefs, opinion leaders, media personnel, government appointees serving our interest here in Canada the chance to ponder over the issue and come out with good suggestions that will improve the system for better living in our communities.
