Bishop T Ga Club - an Association dealing with charity, based in the UK - will on Saturday June 25 throw it big with a Dinner and Fund-Raising event in London in aid of Deprived Children in Ghana.

Formed in 1998, the Club has in its sight literacy in Ga language and culture, providing health education, health screening, education counselling in health living, instilling unity, value and pride in speaking the Ga language and to help set up a Ga historical society or museum.

According to the Chairperson of the Club, Regina Akumiah, the event on June 25 is expected to attract a large number of participants including the Ghana High Commissioner to UK, His Excellency Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo, who will be making a speech.

When the name of ‘Bishop T’ was mentioned there was a show of appreciation from listeners of GFM Radio. He was the first ‘Ga’native to introduce a ‘Ga’ programme on the airwaves in London and from there his Fan Club was born,” she said. The Fan club, she added, has grown to be what it is now called ‘Bishop T Ga Club’ and it has supported among others in Ghana, treatment and research into sickle cells and anaemia, donating computers and its acessories and blood monitoring machines. To be able to achieve its objectives and adventurous projects the Club has started a branch in Accra and some of its members will be coming to the event on Saturday to be hosted at 202-300 Lea Bridge Road, Leyton E10 7L D (Gate Fee: £40.)
