Supply of power to Togo, Benin reduced to ease load shedding

The Ghana Grid Company Limited, GRIDCO, now has 104 megawatts relief from industries and mining companies in the country.

The relief will assist the company to reserve power to enable them to reduce the spate of the current load shedding.

Additionally, GRIDCO has reduced the quantum of power supplied to Togo and Benin, in its quest to store more power to provide adequate electricity transmission services to Ghanaians.

The Manager of the System and Control Center of GRIDCO, Frank Otchere, disclosed this when the Minister of Power, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, paid a working visit to the Company in Tema.

Mr. Otchere said other measures are being taken to ensure full supply. He was, however, quick to add that the load shedding will continue in the first quarter of next year.

Dr. Kwabena Donkor, congratulated the company on its effort in ensuring that the power challenges in the country end. He charged them to continue to be efficient and dedicated to their work.
