Mobitel Introduces New Service

MILILCOM GHANA Limited, operators of Ghana?s premiere cellular service, Mobitel, has introduced yet another innovative product for its numerous customers.

The product, ?Mybuzz?, the first of its kind in the country, brings mobile internet service closer to the doorsteps of Mobitel GSM customers.

In addition, the product also makes vital information available to the customer at the click of a button. Mr. Soban Pasha, managing director of Mobitel, announced these at a ceremony organised to introduce the new product to the public.

He explained that subscribers to this product would be provided with news-items, both local and international, TV nnformation, flight information and others.

In order to maintain its market leadership position, Mr. Pasha noted the company would continue to offer its clients with new communications solutions that combine telecom and datacom technologies with freedom of mobility and an affordable means of communications.

He disclosed that the parent company, MIC SA, shares the present government?s vision of ?Golden Age Of Business?, and would directly assist Mobitel play a positive role as a truly customer-driven private enterprise.

The managing director further called for the right partnership and co-operation from the Ministry of Communications and Technology and all stakeholders in the telecommunications sector.

?This, in a long run, will help stakeholders to contribute their quota to bridge the digital divide between the developed and developing countries?, Pasha elaborated.

In a speech read on his behalf Hon. Felix Owusu Adjapong, Minister of Communications and Technology, explained that the fastest way to develop and get abreast with the world economy, is to join the information highway.

To this end, he congratulated Mobitel for its new product, ?Mybuzz?, and urged them not to relent in their laurels to give subscribers value for their money.

?It is important, therefore, that we do not regard the provision of these services and holding these machines in our hands as mere fancy tools, but that they are vital economic tools that significantly impact on our lives?, he stated.

The sector minister also implored the management of Mobitel to extend its services to the remaining parts of the country.

He pledged his ministry?s firm support, both administratively and technically to any company or individual that would be contributing in diverse ways to make the government achieve its policy of making an ICT nation within the shortest possible time.
