Chairman of Cargill Incorporated calls on Kufuor

Accra, March 10, GNA - A delegation of Cargill Incorporated, an American Company engaged in the buying, exporting and processing of cocoa, led by it Chairman, Mr Warren Stanley, on Friday paid a courtesy call on President John Agyekum Kufuor at the Castle, Osu. They are in the country to explore investment opportunities. President Kufuor said as shareholders in the cocoa world, the Government was interested not only in getting them into Ghana to buy cocoa but to process the beans locally to add value to it.

He said by so doing, they would help to give employment and enhance returns, adding the relationship should be on a win-win basis. Mr Stanley said they were encouraged by what they had been hearing of Ghana and decided to come over to see things for themselves. He said his Company had been in the cocoa purchasing, export and processing business in Cote d'Ivoire since 1990.
