Stock index slumps again

Accra, June 9, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange continued its poor run on Tuesday with the main benchmark GSE All-Share index dropping by 127.23 points. The index closed down at 6,627.37 points from 6,754.60 points on Monday. Change for the year to date slipped deeper into the red at -36.47 per cent. Traded volumes closed the session at 53,000 shares from 153,700 shares on Monday while market capitalisation was also poorer at GH¢16,154.71 million from GH¢16,247.36 million on Monday. On the broader market, there were five price changes, three down and two up. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated lost GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.25; State Insurance Company lost GH¢0.02 at GH¢0.27 and SG-SSB lost GH¢0.02 at GH¢0.49. CAL Bank gained GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.27 and Ghana Commercial bank was GH¢0.02 richer at GH¢0.50. M
