PTA embarks on dormitory block project for school

Bonwire (Ash), Sept 7, GNA - The Bonwire Senior High Technical School (SHTS) in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality, would soon have a three-storey boys' dormitory.

The project is being implemented by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at an estimated cost of GH¢1,000,000.00.

It is to help end the acute accommodation problem facing the school since its establishment about a decade ago.

Mrs Agnes Okyere Gyamfi, the Municipal Education Director, has inspected work on the project that was being funded through a special levy. She praised PTAs in the Municipality for contributing to the development of schools.

Mrs Gyamfi asked students to study hard and pass their examinations, to justify the huge investment being made in their education by their parents.

The Vice President of the PTA, Mr Joseph Osei, conducting Mrs Gyamfi round, said after its completion, the facility would accommodate 800 students and six teachers.

Mr George Oduro Yeboah, the Headmaster, said there was the need to house the teachers on the school compound to ensure effective supervision and discipline.
