Indian Firm sells 1000 tractors to Ghana

NEW DELHI: Escorts on Wednesday said it has sold 1,000 units of its tractors in Ghana and was planning to expand its presence in other African countries.

"We have almost completed a big order in Ghana which is about 1,000 units and are in the last leg of despatch," Head of Exports Division Rajiv Kumar said here.

He said the company entered the market with an initial order of 200 units. "Later, we got two repeat orders of 400 units each," he said, adding that the tractors sold were in the 40-75 horse-power range. Kumar said that Escorts, which was currently exporting to nine African countries, was looking to further expand in the region.
