Gbeho Promoted, Awoonor, Boateng Demoted

President Jerry John Rawlings has elevated Mr. Victor James Gbeho, deputy minister of foreign affairs to the substantive position of minister of foreign affairs. This is contained in a communication from the president and read to parliament by the speaker today. The speaker also announced the revocation by the president of the appointments of Professor Kofi Awoonor and Mr. David Sarpong Boateng, as ministers of state with effect from today and their subsequent appointment as presidential aides under the presidential office act.
