Expresso, Kasapa legal battle reignites

The long legal battle over who owns Espresso has reignited following a warning from the Board of Directors and Management of Kludjeson International Limited, calling on potential investors to desist from making any move to buy the telecom operator.

The Weekend Globe Business News the news about Sudanese telecom group, Sudatel, initiating moves to sell off its stake in Expresso earlier.

Sudatel owns 75% of Expresso Telecom, which acquired 100% of Kasapa Telecom Company in July 2008.

But according to Kludjeson International Limited, sole shareholders of Kasapa Telecom Limited, Sudatel has no shares in Kasapa Telecom.

A statement signed by K-San Law Firm, lawyers for Kludjeson International Limited and Kasapa Telecom Limited said it was false Expresso Telecom Limited owns 100 percent shares in Kasapa Telecom, and that the issue surrounding Kasapa Telecom Limited shareholding was the subject matter of a court action.

The two have been involved in a legal battle over the sale of shares of Kasapa for some time now.

The statement said Sudatel/Sudan Telecom Limited has, since 2008, embarked on a fraudulent scheme of purported shareholding in Kasapa Telecom and that the supposed share offer or sale was another step in their fraudulent activities.

It further warns persons interested in acquiring shares in Kasapa Telecom Limited to be wary of the move since Sudatel has no share in Kasapa Telecom Limited.

“All persons interested in acquiring shares in Kasapa Telecom Limited should be wary of this so-called Sudan Telecom Limited since it has no share in Kasapa Telecom Limited,” the statement said.
