BAC trains business people in Birim Central

The Business Advisory Centre (BAC) of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly has organised a training programme to sharpen the entrepreneurial skills of the members of the Association of Small-Scale Industries at Akim Oda.

The programme, sponsored by the Rural Enterprise Programme, was attended by 20 members.

Mr. Kwabena Nkansah Asare, the Municipal Chief Executive for Birim Central, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said he was optimistic of a positive outcome of the training and assured the participants of the Assembly's support.

Mr. Richard Mongson, the Head of the BAC at the Assembly, said the Association in the municipality had been dormant since its establishment four years ago.

He, therefore, encouraged the members to rekindle it by attending meetings regularly to discuss and put measures in place for its growth.

Mr. Mongson said the BAC was ready to help local entrepreneurs with startups to establish their own businesses to boost the economy of the area.

Mr. Tweneboa Kodua, a lecturer at the Animal Science Department at the College of Tropical Agriculture, Kumasi, was the resource person for the programme.

They were tutored on topics such as Leadership Skills, Organisation of Meetings, Conflict Management, Management of Group Finances and co-operative strategies.
